ABOUT ARRIN: As a child, Arrin’s mother attended the Glasgow School of Art. Being brought up in an environment of design and making inspired her to draw and paint the world around her from an early age. In her early teens she began to design jewellery for which she developed a real passion. Arrin would collect old jewellery from second hand shops and use parts of it to recreate her own jewellery. She also started to experiment with different materials, from silver plated wire to Polymer clay which she could use to create her designs. She started to sell her jewellery in her parents’ business and has now moved on to sell it at craft fairs and in shops. She completed an HNC in interior design before travelling around Australia, Hong Kong and Europe for a couple of years. She then went on to study at the Glasgow School of Art, specialising in Silversmithing and Jewellery Design. She graduated with a BA in Design in 2006. INSPIRATION: Arrin takes most of her inspiration from nature and architecture. To inspire her, she will often refer to the visual diaries she kept while travelling which documented the countryside, the colours and moods of the places she visited as well as the different styles of architecture she saw. She also looks close to home and will develop ideas inspired by Glasgow’s and Paisley’s architecture and the Scottish landscape. She spends time every year in the north of Scotland and always finds this inspirational.

READY TO WEAR: The ‘Ready to Wear’ collection is inspired by nature and architecture and is constantly evolving through design. Each piece is handcrafted and will either be made entirely from silver or from a mix of silver and mixed media. Arrin always uses high quality silver and gem stones in her work. If you would like a piece to be made in a different size or with a different length or style of chain please let us know when you place your order via the e-mail below. Arrin is always developing new designs so please click here to see more of the collection. COMMISSIONED / ONE-OFF PIECES: A commissioned piece is always special because you know it is unique. Arrin can work to your budget whether it is large or small and will design with you a piece to enjoy and cherish. You can contact Arrin by email letting her know what your ideas are— this could be the style and materials you would like to use or a painting, photograph or object that inspires you. She will discuss with you in more detail what you are looking for by email or phone, and through design sketches she will develop your idea. Once you have decided on a design, each piece will be hand crafted from start to finish. This usually takes about 4 weeks to complete. It will then be sent to you ready for you to wear, in a display box, or give to someone as a present. There is a fee of £20 for the design drawings; this will be deducted from the total cost of your order if you choose to have to piece made. A deposit may also be asked for depending on the cost of your piece. To view the product list which includes some of the commissioned and one off pieces, click here.
